Jean Villarreal, Marketing Director of Lifesec.
Lifesec is a lifestyle products manufacturing and trading company, its products range from kitchenwares, electronic appliances to vehicle parts. It is now selling their products in North America, Europe and Asia.
It is the 10th year that Lifesec has been selling its products in China. “Over the years, Lifesec has been using massive PR and marketing means to establish its kingdom. Our staff are all PR talents, but when we entered the new market it came to the language issue,” Jean says, “All Lifesec’s PR and marketing articles are written in English, which most people in Mainland China do not understand.” She supplements that PR articles influence the brand image and marketing materials influence directly the sales which good translation is critical to them.
“We have tried some local linguistic companies before, some of them had offered us good rates, but quality was not up to standard, and some were not submitting works punctually,” says Jean, as Spear was their 6th translation company they have employed. Quality is always the prior concern for Lifesec, and punctuality takes a great place as well, “some of our documents are contracts and financial materials…all of them have a time limit and require a timely response.”
Spear was hired in 2001, for translating documents from English to both Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. And now, Spear is helping them to translate into other Asian languages including Bahasa, Tagalog, Thai, etc, and even drafting copywriting for Lifesec’s product descriptions, guidebooks, website PR contents and more. “Finding a reliable partner is very important to our operation routines, especially in a new market where the culture and language are totally different from ours. We have trust in Spear.”
Jean talks also the reasons why Lifesec consistently hire Spear is that the project coordination services at Spear are super good, as they are fast, with quality, attentive and thoughtful. “You know, all my staff cannot read the target languages, we can only trust our partner and, Spear has completed all the jobs and wrote us more and more good passages.”
When it comes to the end of the interview, Jean asserts that she will definitely recommend Spear to her business partners. “Thanks for the help from their translation and editing team, we are now marketing our products with even more confidence.”
